The new SLC 43 represents the entry point into the current roadster world of AMG. Apart from the renaming of the SLK to SLC, the open-top two-seater also comes with a new AMG nomenclature. The familiar two-digit combination typical of AMG underscores the SLC's unmistakable membership of the AMG family. Due to its overall "engineered in Affalterbach" package of typical AMG driving dynamics, engine response and high efficiency, the SLC 43 is very competitively positioned in the segment. The 43 stands for the further-developed AMG 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine. The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 is therefore the first V6 model from Affalterbach to feature the new nomenclature. This will be successively introduced to the future model portfolio.
Affalterbach. There need be no contradiction between high driving dynamics and low fuel consumption. This is proved by the new Mercedes-AMG SLC 43: thanks to the combination of 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine and 9G-TRONIC sports transmission, the 270 kW (367 hp) roadster consumes just 7.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres (NEDC, combined). Consequently, the open-top two-seater not only uses 0.6 l/100 km less than its predecessor, the SLK 55 with V8 naturally aspirated engine, but is also the most efficient six-cylinder performance roadster on the market. The specially developed suspension and model-specific mountings for engine and rear-axle gear unit are designed for high lateral acceleration and low roll. Even greater driving dynamics is optionally available with the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive adjustable damping and the Handling package with mechanical limited-slip differential on the rear axle.

Cari fratelli e sorelle, buon Natale!

Cristo è nato per noi, esultiamo nel giorno della nostra salvezza!
Apriamo i nostri cuori a ricevere la grazia di questo giorno, che è Lui stesso: Gesù è il “giorno” luminoso che è sorto all’orizzonte dell’umanità. Giorno di misericordia, nel quale Dio Padre ha rivelato all’umanità la sua immensa tenerezza. Giorno di luce che disperde le tenebre della paura e dell’angoscia. Giorno di pace, in cui diventa possibile incontrarsi, dialogare, e soprattutto riconciliarsi. Giorno di gioia: una «gioia grande» per i piccoli e gli umili, e per tutto il popolo (cfr Lc 2,10).

In questo giorno, dalla Vergine Maria, è nato Gesù, il Salvatore. Il presepe ci fa vedere il «segno» che Dio ci ha dato: «un bambino avvolto in fasce, adagiato in una mangiatoia» (Lc 2,12). Come i pastori di Betlemme, anche noi andiamo a vedere questo segno, questo avvenimento che ogni anno si rinnova nella Chiesa. Il Natale è un avvenimento che si rinnova in ogni famiglia, in ogni parrocchia, in ogni comunità che accoglie l’amore di Dio incarnato in Gesù Cristo. Come Maria, la Chiesa mostra a tutti il «segno» di Dio: il Bambino che Lei ha portato in grembo e ha dato alla luce, ma che è Figlio dell’Altissimo, perché «viene dallo Spirito Santo» (Mt 1,20). Per questo Lui è il Salvatore, perché è l’Agnello di Dio che prende su di sé il peccato del mondo (cfr Gv 1,29). Insieme ai pastori, prostriamoci davanti all’Agnello, adoriamo la Bontà di Dio fatta carne, e lasciamo che lacrime di pentimento riempiano i nostri occhi e lavino il nostro cuore. Tutti ne abbiamo bisogno!

Rinderknecht, boss of the Swiss idea smithy Rinspeed, celebrates a world premiere outside his Alpine home with the hybrid sports car "Ʃtos." The automotive visionary says: "The digital world will provide the major and above all the disruptive innovations in automotive engineering. That is why nowadays all major car manufacturers and suppliers are present at the CES Consumer Electronics Show."



As always, the Swiss mastermind approaches the mega topic of "self-driving cars" primarily from the perspective of the driver and the occupants, the human component. And as always, he garnishes his concept with a host of inspiring and emotionally appealing highlights.   MARIA ELENA BOSCHI, Ministra per le riforme costituzionali e i rapporti con il Parlamento. Signora Presidente, onorevoli colleghi, non è mia intenzione in questa sede esprimere valutazioni sulla campagna politica in atto contro la mia famiglia e soprattutto contro il Governo: per il rispetto che nutro nei confronti della Presidenza e di tutti i colleghi, mi limiterò ad esporre i fatti.

  I provvedimenti emanati dal nostro Governo hanno in qualche modo, seppure indirettamente, favorito la mia famiglia ? Questa è la domanda: c’è stato del favoritismo, una corsia preferenziale, la legge non è stata applicata in modo uguale per tutti i cittadini ? Questo è il quesito che viene posto. Forse vi stupirò, ma se la risposta fosse sì sarei io la prima a ritenere necessarie le mie dimissioni. Ma restiamo alla verità dei fatti, perché con i «sembrerebbe» e i «pare» che ho sentito questa mattina si va poco lontano (Applausi dei deputati dei gruppi Partito Democratico e Scelta Civica per l'Italia).

  Vorrei dire a tutti coloro che hanno firmato la richiesta di dimissioni, che mi usassero la gentilezza di ascoltare i fatti che porterò in quest'Aula, perché chi ha un approccio alla realtà dei fatti privo di pregiudizi non può che arrendersi di fronte all'evidenza. Ascoltate prima di votare e ascoltate senza pregiudizio. Vorrei innanzitutto che fossero chiari i fatti: mio padre è stato eletto membro del consiglio di amministrazione di Banca Etruria nel maggio del 2014. Ricordo che i soci di Banca Etruria, una banca popolare molto diffusa sul territorio, erano oltre 69.350. È stato poi nominato vicepresidente, uno dei vicepresidenti, non vicario e senza deleghe. Ha accettato quell'incarico convinto di poter dare una mano, di poter dare una mano in un momento in cui la banca era già in difficoltà per le gestioni precedenti e per la crisi economica. Mio padre, come tutti gli altri membri del consiglio di amministrazione, ha perso il proprio incarico, è stato destituito con il commissariamento voluto dal nostro Governo con il decreto n. 45 del 10 febbraio del 2015 firmato dal Ministro Padoan su richiesta di Banca d'Italia. In tutta onestà voglio chiedere a quest'Aula: dov'è il favoritismo nell'aver fatto perdere a mio padre l'incarico, così come tutti gli altri consiglieri di amministrazione hanno perso il proprio incarico (Applausi dei deputati del gruppo Partito Democratico) ? Ma v’è di più. Mio padre, è già stato detto, è stato al pari degli altri membri del consiglio di amministrazione, dei membri del collegio sindacale, del direttore generale, sanzionato da Banca d'Italia e ha pagato una multa di 144.000 euro. Vorrei chiedere, in tutta onestà, dov'è il favoritismo nella sanzione di Banca d'Italia verso mio padre (Applausi dei deputati del gruppo Partito Democratico) ?

  Lasciatemi dire però quello che ho nel cuore. Io amo mio padre e non mi vergogno a dirlo, mio padre è una persona perbene, io sono fiera di lui (Applausi dei deputati dei gruppi Partito Democratico e Area Popolare (NCD-UDC)) e sono fiera di essere la prima nella famiglia Boschi ad essersi laureata e ricordo la gioia e la commozione di mio padre quando è venuto a Firenze ad assistere alla mia laurea. I miei fratelli più piccoli sono laureati uno in economia e uno in ingegneria e noi sappiamo quello che ha fatto mio padre per farci studiare, lui figlio di contadini che per andare a scuola e diplomarsi ogni giorno faceva 5 chilometri a piedi all'andata e 5 chilometri a piedi al ritorno e quaranta minuti di treno. Questa è la storia semplice, umile, ma forte della mia famiglia, non le maldicenze che ho sentito raccontare in questi giorni, le meschinità che sono state scritte (Applausi dei deputati dei gruppi Partito Democratico e Area Popolare (NCD-UDC)). Io so che questo fa parte delle regole del gioco e non mi arrabbio ma spero, se un giorno avrò la fortuna di essere madre, che i miei figli siamo orgogliosi del loro padre quanto io lo sono del mio.

Marine Le Pen France’s far right National Front party has emerged victorious in the first round of voting in France’s regional elections – securing nearly one in three votes and the biggest share in six out of France's 13 regions. The result is a blow to President Francois Hollande of the Socialist party – whose popularity has risen after last month’s terror attacks in Paris.



The first political test for France since the attacks – and the National Front under Marine Le Pen has emerged as the clear winner. She said the result showed the old political world is ‘crumbling’.



She said the National Front was the only truly republican force, because it was the only one to defend the nation and its sovereignty.



Party supporters – like Ludovic in the northern city of Lille - were jubilant. “The French people are fed up and it's time to change things,” he said.



Among opponents, there was widespread shock.



Serena Demassi – from the southern city of Perpignan – said it was a pity that the Paris attacks played such a big role.



Following the attacks, Le Pen has argued that France should not take in any Muslim immigrants. But voter fear wasn't the only explanation for the party’s success, said Professor Matthew Goodwin of policy analysis group Chatham House, who spoke to VOA via Skype.

Lucy Maud Montgomery’s 141st Birthday celebrated by the new Google Doodle Animation on Nove, 30, 2015.



Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote her first novel in 1905. It was rejected by every single publishing house that received it. A few years later, Montgomery tried shopping it again and succeeded. Her story about the adventures of a red-headed girl in Prince Edward Island became a smash hit. That novel ultimately became one of Canada’s most all-time popular books, being translated into around 20 languages and selling more than 50 million copies to date. Anne of Green Gables and its many sequels made Montgomery a wildly successful author and turned PEI into a destination for the book’s thousands of fans.



One of Canada’s most celebrated writers, Montgomery also wrote hundreds of poems and short stories as well as a number of novels apart from the Anne series. She was the first Canadian woman to be made a member of the British Royal Society of Arts and was also appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. Today, on what would have been her 141st birthday, we salute Lucy Maud Montgomery with a Doodle that pays tribute to her most iconic book.

False Terrorist Attack Alarm in Paris - Wave of Panic for Firecrackers

Wave of panic for firecrackers, a false terrorist alarm in Paris, at Place de la Republique square. Sunday night sent hundreds of people  at a candlelit vigil for those killed in Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris fleeing for safety. Despite warnings from authorities to avoid public gatherings, for a second night a crowd had gathered at Place de la Republique square to light candles. A sudden wave of panic hit the crowd after, reports say, firecrackers were lit off nearby.

The terrorist group issued a statement Saturday, saying the attacks were in response to airstrikes against IS.



French President Francois Hollande on Saturday declared three days of national mourning following the attacks across the capital city. The French leader blamed the Islamic State group for the night of horror and called the attacks "an act of war."



Vowing to hunt down the attackers, Hollande said, "France will triumph over this barbarity." He called an emergency Cabinet meeting and mobilized France's security forces at the "highest levels."

2015 MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo beats Valentino Rossi thanks to Marquez second and Pedrosa third at Valencia Grand Prix.

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo proved once again his racing pedigree, taking a superb win at the final round of the season at Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana - Ricardo Tormo as he fended off two trailing rivals to the very end of the race. Valentino Rossi followed up two tension-filled races with an equally thrilling 30-lap sprint and delighted his fans with one of the strongest performances of his career. He rode from 26th on the grid to take a superb fourth place and finished the season as the World Championship runner-up.



Lorenzo started from pole after his perfect lap during yesterdays’ qualifying and delivered the same standard today. He had a perfect start to take the hole shot with Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa following. Lapping consistent mid 1’31s for most of the race, the Spaniard slowly built a gap of over 0.7s to his closest rival, but as the race progressed towards the midway stage, Marquez was able to win some time and slowly inched closer.



Suddenly the atmosphere changed as the possible outcome of the race became wide open again, however Lorenzo remained unshaken. Despite pressure from Marquez, and Pedrosa who started to close in with seven laps remaining, he rode like a true champion, not allowing his compatriots to make him lose his concentration for even a second.



There was close to nothing between the current and the soon to be World Champion, but still Lorenzo managed to hold his rival off. As Pedrosa had a second wind, he and Marquez started to fight amongst themselves. This was all Lorenzo needed to break away for a second time. Immediately acting on the situation he pulled away slightly while going into the final lap. Marquez and Pedrosa were still following his every move, but the Yamaha rider's pace was too fast for them to make an impression before Lorenzo crossed the line for a final time with a 0.263s advantage.



Team-mate Rossi started from the back of the grid in 26th place and rode the opening lap of a lifetime, completing the first lap in 15th place to climb up to ninth position at the end of the third lap as Iannone crashed out. He soon closed the more than one second gap to fellow Yamaha rider Bradley Smith, while setting a personal best lap of 1’31.820, but the Italian was unable to make his move on the Brit straight away.



Rossi let his experience do the talking and waited one and a half laps before passing smoothly and soon moved up to seventh just a few minutes later as Petrucci, who was in front of him, ran wide. Next in line were the Espargaró brothers, lapping 0,8s in front of the flying Italian. He managed to close up to Pol Espargaró with 21 laps remaining and overtook him just a few corners later, making his brother the next target.

Lorenzo was unflappable as he defended first place from his pursuers from start to finish to secure a brilliant 40th MotoGP Grand Prix victory of his career and take the Championship Title by five points. Team-mate Valentino Rossi also had a phenomenal ride, cutting though the field like a knife through butter, to take a hard-fought fourth place and the runner-up spot for the 2015 season.

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo set today's already hot qualifying session at Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana - Ricardo Tormo on fire, taking first place with a scorching 1'30,011s lap, a new circuit best lap record. Though team-mate Valentino Rossi will be starting tomorrow's Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana from the back of the grid, he put in a solid effort until a small crash ended his session, leaving him in twelfth place.

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo left no confusion this afternoon about his intentions of winning this years' MotoGP World Championship, setting a magnificent lap for pole position at the last qualifying session of the year. With no pressure to get a front start in qualifying, team-mate Valentino Rossi was steadily improving his pace throughout the session, but suffered a small crash at the final stages and ended the day having set the twelfth fastest time.

Design

The eternity of the element air. Gentle and refined, yet the strength of the wind it is able to

erode even the toughest of materials giving birth to distinctive shapes known in nature. Elegant

and muscular the Huayra merges the past, present and future in a timeless interpretation of

automotive art.

The styling of the car was perfected over the course of 5 years to find each line's beginning

and end. During this study, eight scale models were created, as well as two 1:1 models, each

an evolution of the previous in a never ending quest to perfect the form and refining the

substance.

The bi-xenon headlamps are just one of the many precious gifts from the Zonda R, and LED

daytime running lights are seamlessly integrated in the elliptical shape of the design. The rear

bumper integrates with the diffuser and is dominated by an elliptical frame that surrounds the

four central exhaust outlets, now becoming a characteristic Pagani element.



Backbone



The new central monocoque on the Huayra is an entirely new design made from carbon-

titanium. However, with the gull wing doors cutting deep into the roof, much research was

focused on achieving the highest levels of rigidity through the application of new advanced

composite materials and technologies first tested on the Zonda R. The fuel tank is located

integrally in the best protected area of the monocoque, behind the driver, reinforced by safety

cell made of different composite and ballistic materials. The front and rear CrMo subframes

offer an exceptional rigidity-to-weight ratio to allowing the suspensions to work at their best

while incorporating an advanced energy absorbing crash structure, ready to protect the occupants

in the unlikely event of an impact.



Heart



Mercedes-AMG provides the heart for the Huayra. The 60 degree 12 cylinder turbocharged

engine with a displacement of 5980 cm3 has been developed not just to meet the strictest

technical and quality requirements, but also to give the car its many faces.

The calm and harmony of driving one of the world's most refined GT car is interrupted when

the driver calls upon the Huayra to unleash its 700 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque. The

turbos have been studied to offer immediate response to the slightest throttle input, giving

the driver full control over the engine at any rpm and preventing unwanted delays in the delivery

of power.

The engine's systems have been designed and tested to stand up to the most adverse conditions

of temperature and performance. The Huayra has been subjected to the highs of Death Valley

and the lows of the Arctic Circle. The two lateral radiators are positioned in the front to

guarantee the best cooling efficiency of the intercoolers placed over the cylinder heads. Dry

sump lubrication ensures an optimal oil feed to the engine even when the car is subjected to

the most extreme lateral accelerations. It also regulates the oil flow so that only the necessary

amount of lubricant is actually pumped into the engine from the external oil tank, reducing

the friction caused by an excessive volume of lubricant inside the engine sump. An oil/water

heat exchanger reduces warm-up times by heating the engine lubricant during cold start and

keeps engine coolant and lubricant levels at steady operational temperatures. Extensive weight

saving programs led to ingenious yet simple solutions. In order to reduce hoses and connections

as much as possible is built directly to the engine. The intercooler covers serve as expansion

tanks to the low temperature circuit and the engine coolant circuit. The vertical fins contribute

to the cooling of the tanks.

The M158 engine is homologated to meet the strictest environmental regulations, EU5 and

LEV2. Despite the increase of power compared to the other Mercedes-AMG V12 engines

developed for Pagani, C02 emissions as well as the fuel consumption have been reduced, to

make the Huayra class leading amongst 12 cylinder sports cars with values that are respective

of much smaller vehicles in the market. The two stage fuel supply system features two

microprocessor controlled pumps feeding fuel to the engine with the second pump only

activated when necessary, thus reducing the energy required to run the fuel pumps and

eliminates the waste of excessive fuel being transported and heated in the fuel lines. This

efficiency combined with a large 85 liter fuel tank ensure Huayra's grand touring ability.

Se guardate l'immagine dall'elicottero è chiaro che quando il mio piede è scivolato della pedaliera, Marquez era già caduto. Io non volevo dargli un calcio, soprattutto perché, se si dà un calcio a una MotoGP, non cade, è molto pesante.

Pedrosa dominates in Malaysia as Marquez crashes out after controversial clash with Rossi

Pole man Dani Pedrosa led every lap of today’s Malaysian GP to take his second win of the season and seal the hat-trick of victories for the Repsol Honda Team in the fly away races. Unfortunately teammate Marc Marquez was involved in an incident with Valentino Rossi and crashed out on lap five.

Dani made a strong start off the line with Marc closely behind him however, after a small mistake on lap two Marc was passed by Lorenzo in turn four demoting him to third place and in front of Rossi. As Dani took control at the front, Marc and Rossi fought fiercely for third place and on lap four the two riders passed each other nine times, with Marc leading as they began lap five.

Again they battled and passed one another five times with Rossi in front as they exited turn thirteen. With Marc on the outside, Rossi slowed them both down into turn fourteen and then extended his leg into Marc’s bike causing him to crash. Dani remained untouchable at the front, winning comfortably with a margin of 3.6 seconds over Lorenzo.

Abbiamo detto che gli hotspot hanno un senso insieme alla ricollocazione e alla politica di rimpatrio. I primi 19 ragazzi eritrei che hanno lasciato Lampedusa (il Ministro dell'interno è andato, quel giorno, in quella terra così bella per salutarli) non sono 19 numeri in meno nelle statistiche del nostro Paese: sono l'inizio di un grande, grande, grande progetto politico, che è quello che l'Unione europea ha un valore condiviso anche sui temi dell'immigrazione, che l'Unione europea non è soltanto un indice di bilanci, che l'Unione europea non è soltanto lo spread, che l'Unione europea non è soltanto una serie di numeri affastellati dentro complicati documenti, che leggono solo gli addetti ai lavori.

  Mi piacerebbe pensare di poter dire che l'Unione europea ha un'anima e la difende e la preserva e cerca, di conseguenza, di constatare un elemento oggettivo: che oggi il centro dell'Europa è la sua periferia, che oggi il cuore dell'Europa è il suo confine e che oggi, paradossalmente, la mappa dell'Europa, se viene messa a fuoco, ha un valore maggiore sulle sue frontiere che non nel suo cuore.

  Questo io credo sia il primo punto di discussione giovedì. Sei mesi fa queste cose le dicevamo da soli o con pochi altri. Penso soprattutto a Malta. Adesso le diciamo in compagnia più ampia, non ancora in maggioranza o ad una unanimità, che non c’è, evidentemente. È l'Europa che costruisce i muri, che fa parte, come noi, dell'Europa a 28.

  E sarebbe molto interessante che, prima o poi, il nostro Parlamento discutesse e riflettesse anche al proprio interno, su un principio: negli ultimi vent'anni noi abbiamo allargato l'Europa da 15 a 28 Paesi. Io continuo a pensare, fuori da ogni diplomazia, o che sia stato un allargamento troppo grande o che sia stato un allargamento troppo piccolo. Cerco di spiegarmi meglio. L'Europa a 28, così come è, o è troppa o è troppo poca. Se vogliamo continuare in questa direzione, dobbiamo aprirci innanzitutto allo scenario che, nel corso dell'ultimo secolo, ha sempre scatenato conflitti, vale a dire l'area dei Balcani: la Serbia, l'Albania, il Montenegro. E naturalmente, viene naturale l'elemento di riflessione che collega la Turchia e a ciò che sta avvenendo in queste ore in quel Paese.

  Dunque, chiudo il primo punto, prima di entrare nel secondo, più legato alla Turchia, al Mediterraneo e agli scenari geopolitici, per dire che sulla questione immigrazione il Governo chiede al Parlamento semplicemente una constatazione: ciò che abbiamo fatto in questi mesi (naturalmente, si può sempre fare meglio, si può sempre fare con maggiore attenzione, con maggiore determinazione, con maggiore decisione) è però l'orizzonte corretto nel quale l'Unione europea, e non soltanto l'Italia, dovrebbe muoversi.

  Oggi, che ci stanno arrivando anche altri Paesi, che nel corso degli ultimi mesi hanno cambiato idea, è arrivato il momento per noi di riflettere in modo ancora più efficace e più incisivo.

  Qual è la politica strategica che noi abbiamo sul Mediterraneo e nel Medio Oriente ? Perché questo è il secondo punto di discussione. Confesso che nella discussione con i partner europei e non soltanto con loro, in questi primi venti mesi di azione di Governo, più volte mi sono trovato di fronte a scelte dettate – mi è parso – più dall'esigenza di dare una risposta immediata alle proprie opinioni pubbliche, che non a una raffinata elaborazione di politica estera. E tutte e tutti noi sappiamo, indipendentemente dal colore politico, che alcune delle scelte che hanno caratterizzato questo quadrante di mondo, in primis la Libia del 2011, paiono essere inserite in questa logica.

  Si dà una risposta immediata, si pensa che la risposta immediata possa risolvere il problema.

  Noi, come Italia, abbiamo cercato, dal primo giorno dell'azione del Governo, di affermare una piccola cosa, che ci sembra, però, una grande verità: il Mediterraneo è il cuore dei prossimi decenni di sviluppo dell'Italia e dell'Europa. Il Mediterraneo è il centro: la prima visita ufficiale fatta dal Governo non è stata a Parigi, non è stata a Berlino, non è stata a Londra, non è stata a Francoforte, non è stata a Washington, non è stata a Mosca, è stata a Tunisi. E con quanta gioia – credo – tutte e tutti abbiamo accolto la notizia del Premio Nobel per la pace dato a quattro personalità della società civile tunisina, autori di un cammino che forse oggi è più unico che raro: il cammino della democrazia nel Mediterraneo (Applausi).

  Ma non basta, non basta, a mio sommesso avviso, riconoscere e constatare che quella intuizione era un'intuizione giusta. Occorre oggi avere una strategia che non sia soltanto una reazione. E avere una strategia che non sia soltanto una reazione impone di prendere atto – perlomeno, questa è la lettura che noi diamo – che esiste un blocco uniforme, nel senso di un blocco che non ha soluzione di continuità, ma che è molto frastagliato, frammentato e variegato al proprio interno, che parte dall'Afghanistan e arriva all'Africa occidentale e che è unito da un filo rosso, che è il fanatismo e l'estremismo religioso, che comportano e richiamano interventi di natura militare terroristica. Questo è l'elemento con il quale noi facciamo i conti.

  Poi, lo puoi chiamare ISIS, ISIL, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram; puoi partire dai talebani e arrivare fino all'università di Garissa, in Kenya; puoi scegliere singole aree di intervento sulla base dell'impressione dell'opinione pubblica, ma l'elemento chiave con il quale dobbiamo fare i conti è che dall'Afghanistan alla Nigeria esiste un blocco, molto frammentato al proprio interno e diversificato – come è ovvio che sia –, contro il quale una grande coalizione internazionale è assolutamente necessaria, innanzitutto in termini educativi e culturali per le prossime generazioni, poi, naturalmente, in termini di aiuti allo sviluppo, di investimento sul futuro e naturalmente in termini di lotta contro l'estremismo e gli atti di terrore. Se noi non riconosciamo che il problema è più vasto del singolo intervento, ci troveremo tutti i giorni a discutere di un problema diverso, che le singole opinioni pubbliche, o forse l'opinione pubblica internazionale, ci presenteranno.

  Il tema dell'immigrazione è stato posto alla nostra attenzione in modo molto forte nell'estate del 2015 e ha suscitato anche reazioni che, a mio giudizio, resteranno nella piccola cronaca della sociologia politica. Come è possibile che vi siano leader politici che, nel giro di due mesi, passino dal dire: «Tutti a casa loro !» a: «Li accolgo nel mio bilocale» ? Appartiene al mistero della sociologia politica, nel quale non mi addentro (Applausi dei deputati dei gruppi Partito Democratico, Area Popolare (NCD-UDC), Scelta Civica per l'Italia e Per l'Italia – Centro Democratico e di deputati del gruppo Misto). Ma il dato di fatto vero è che questa realtà non si risolve con atti di buonismo, tipo «Li ospito nel mio bilocale». Si risolve con una raffinata operazione di politica estera, che richiede generazioni, che si misura, come impegno, sui mesi, non sui giorni, e che deve prendere atto che o ci sono una visione e una strategia o sarà sempre una reazione tipica di chi «surfa» sull'istante, di chi è abituato ad avere una reazione sulla base di ciò che dice il giornale, l'ultimo lancio di agenzia o la televisione, che ha il rullo di notizie 24 ore su 24. Questo è il punto fondamentale.

  Oggi discutiamo di Siria. Oggi discutiamo di Siria, come ieri discutevamo di Libia, come discutevamo di Egitto, come discutevamo, qualche mese fa, di tante e tante realtà diversificate. Ma qual è la posizione dell'Europa su questi temi ?

  Io credo che qui si giochi il ruolo della credibilità italiana. E, da questo punto di vista, vorrei che fosse chiaro che il nostro problema non è a quali formati partecipiamo nelle riunioni internazionali. Lo dico perché ho sentito delle polemiche abbastanza stravaganti su questo: vi tengono fuori dal formato «cinque più uno». Sì, perché qualche Governo, qualche anno fa, è stato tenuto fuori, forse per scelta, dal formato delle discussioni iraniane. Io credo che allora quel formato fu un errore e recuperare la scelta di allora non sarà la cosa più semplice. Ci impegniamo a farlo, con l'aiuto di tutti, con l'aiuto di un sistema Paese, non cercando di dividersi, ma cercando di dire che qualunque fosse il colore di quel Governo che allora fu tenuto fuori, il nostro compito è quello di tornare dentro tutti i formati importanti che ci sono. Ma non è il formato delle discussioni di politica estera che cambia la storia della politica estera: è la credibilità di un sistema di sviluppo che tenga insieme una rinnovata stabilità del Paese e una capacità di utilizzare il soft power che l'Europa e l'Italia hanno per individuare finalmente una strategia che non sia di corto respiro.

  Insomma, se qualcuno immagina di risolvere il problema della Siria dicendo «stamattina mi alzo e decido che facciamo i bombardamenti lì», auguri e in bocca al lupo ! Ma non risolverà il problema. La Libia sta lì a dimostrarlo. E, attenzione ! Commette lo stesso errore – mi permetto di dirlo con rispetto per le opinioni di tutte e di tutti – chi oggi immagina, dopo aver teorizzato l'esclusione della Russia da tutti i formati, arrivando a dire a noi che facevamo un errore ad andare il 6 marzo al Cremlino a parlare con Putin per cercare di riportarlo nella discussione del Mediterraneo (questo era l'obiettivo della missione italiana al Cremlino del 6 marzo dello scorso anno) – di appaltare totalmente la questione della Siria alla Russia e ai suoi alleati, dimenticando gli ultimi sei mesi. Non si risolvono i problemi internazionali con soluzioni spot, ma costruendo occasioni di dialogo e di confronto, le più ampie possibili, partendo da un dato di fatto, ossia che l'accelerazione che c’è nella vita di tutti i giorni, che c’è nella discussione dei metodi di comunicazione, che c’è nella politica, che c’è nelle forme della politica, c’è anche nel nuovo ordine internazionale. Sta cambiando il mondo con una velocità che è impressionante. Cambia la geografia. I confini che sono usciti dalla Seconda guerra mondiale, talvolta improntati a criteri di divisione molto legati all'autorità e all'autorevolezza – più all'autorità che all'autorevolezza –, magari di singoli dittatori, stanno venendo meno. E, di fronte a questo scenario, nessuno ha soluzioni prestabilite o «prescodellate». Occorre fare la fatica della politica estera, perché è una fatica la politica estera ! Ma è riconoscersi titolari di una visione, Mediterraneo e Medio Oriente come centrali – e l'Italia l'ha fatto – ed essere capaci di stare dentro tutte le partite che sono le partite chiave. La partita dell'indipendenza energetica dell'Egitto è un pezzo della stabilità di quell'area del quadrante. La partita della crescita educativa nei Paesi subsahariani, magari con scambi universitari e con borse di studio, è un pezzo della scommessa di quello che sarà, da qui ai prossimi anni, uno dei motori del mondo. Usciamo dalla retorica banale. L'Africa, nei prossimi vent'anni, sarà uno dei motori del mondo. Già oggi alcune aree africane hanno percentuali di crescita superiori al sud-est asiatico. Ma per farlo, occorre uscire dalla volontà di rinfacciarsi reciprocamente singole scelte politiche. Occorre avere la forza di dire che siamo un grande Paese, l'Italia, che sta dentro un continente incerto. Infatti, è incerto un continente che ha accolto vent'anni fa dei Paesi perché ha tirato giù un muro e vede quegli stessi Paesi ritirare su i muri. È un fenomeno che resterà scritto nei prossimi libri di storia. Sta cambiando l'idea stessa di identità europea. L'identità europea ovviamente è nata per il grande sogno dei padri costituenti e, non a caso, nel 2017 vorremmo dedicare un'attenzione particolare a ricordare il Trattato di Roma del 1957.

  Ma poi ha avuto un momento chiave, all'inizio degli anni Novanta quando, dopo il crollo del muro di Berlino nel novembre 1989, si è aperta una stagione nuova e il processo di allargamento ha consentito di coinvolgere alcune realtà che non avevano conosciuto la pace, la democrazia e il benessere e quelle realtà lì, oggi, o almeno una parte di queste, teorizzano la propria identità in alcuni casi costruendo un nemico: la Russia. Ed è una cosa impensabile costruire come identità un proprio avversario, il principale vicino di casa. Ma contemporaneamente immaginano di poter bloccare i flussi della storia, tirando su un muro, quando abbiamo sempre visto che un muro, che dovrebbe difenderti, finisce per intrappolarti e quando abbiamo sempre visto che la storia è più forte e più alta dei muri.

  Ecco perché – e vado a concludere – questa seconda parte del dibattito, che però è propedeutica alla discussione sull'immigrazione, dovrebbe essere in grado di alzare le aspettative dell'Unione europea. Certo, ho fatto un discorso molto teorico, privo, forse, della capacità di produrre valore che hanno le emozioni e quanti di noi e quante di noi, vedendo le immagini di ciò che è accaduto in Turchia, hanno provato delle emozioni. Qualcuno che ha fatto esperienze nei movimenti giovanili dei partiti è sicuramente andato con la mente a ciò che è accaduto in Norvegia, qualche anno fa, in una dinamica totalmente diversa, vorrei essere chiaro, in un Paese che viveva e vive una stagione diversa dalla Turchia di oggi. Ma quei selfie sul pullman, sul treno, quelle immagini dei candidati che qualche ora prima di morire in quel modo mostrano il loro sorriso e la loro voglia di partecipare alla vita politica del proprio Paese, anche questo suscita emozioni. Quello che io contesto è che le emozioni non diano seguito a una politica strategica. L'Europa ha bisogno di questo. L'Europa non può limitarsi a rincorrere costantemente le emozioni di turno e non può pensare che la priorità vari di giorno in giorno sulla base delle priorità che ha una redazione di giornale. È giusto che la redazione di un giornale dia ogni giorno una notizia diversa; la politica europea, la politica estera, i singoli Paesi hanno la necessità di avere un atteggiamento diverso.

  Naturalmente il dibattito del Consiglio europeo affronterà anche altre questioni che – si tratterà, però, di un Consiglio europeo abbastanza breve, uno di quelli che finiscono in nottata, magari in serata – investono problematiche su cui avremo modo di tornare. Sul rapporto dei «quattro presidenti» che qualcuno chiama dei «cinque presidenti» – stanno crescendo i presidenti che lo vogliono firmare – bisognerebbe far sì che crescesse la volontà dei Governi di individuare quello strumento come uno strumento degno di questo nome per una politica davvero unitaria a livello europeo. Noi siamo pronti a fare quella discussione, abbiamo portato delle proposte, il Ministro Padoan, anche recentemente in Lussemburgo, ha rilanciato una specifica misura contro la disoccupazione temporanea. Il Ministro degli esteri ha immaginato di poter ospitare a Roma, nei prossimi mesi, nel 2017, degli appuntamenti ad hoc per riflettere sull'Unione europea dei prossimi anni, partendo dai sei Paesi fondatori.

La Polizia di Stato e la Polizia rumena smantellano falsa agenzia di viaggi on-line che vendeva biglietti aerei

La Polizia Postale e delle Comunicazioni, congiuntamente alla Polizia rumena ed al Centro Europeo per la lotta al Cybercrime di Europol, ha  arrestato 50 persone, tra cui 4 leader di un gruppo di criminalità organizzata rumena, in quanto responsabili del reato transnazionale di frode informatica.
I criminali erano  infatti autori di frodi con carte di credito clonate, poi utilizzate per l’acquisto in internet di beni di vario tipo, tra i quali anche biglietti aerei, attraverso la creazione di una agenzia di viaggi on-line che gestiva il commercio illegale a livello internazionale.

Durante l'operazione, portata a termine nella parte meridionale della Romania, sono state eseguite 16 perquisizioni domiciliari al termine delle quali si è proceduto al sequestro di una enorme quantità di dispositivi digitali, tra i quali numerosi PC, laptop, telefoni cellulari, schede SIM, schede di memoria e altra documentazione. Su tutto il materiale si provvederà adesso ad effettuare delle accurate analisi forensi alla ricerca di ulteriori prove dei reati commessi.

La lettera di addio dell'ex sindaco di Roma Ignazio Marino dopo le sue dimissioni dal Campidoglio.
“Care romane e cari romani, ho molto riflettuto prima di assumere la mia decisione. L’ho fatto avendo come unica stella polare l’interesse della Capitale d’Italia, della mia città. Quando, poco più di due anni e mezzo fa mi sono candidato a sindaco di Roma l’ho fatto per cambiare Roma, strappando il Campidoglio alla destra che lo aveva preso e per cinque anni maltrattato, infangato sino a consentire l’ingresso di attività criminali anche di tipo mafioso. Quella sfida l’abbiamo vinta insieme.

In questi due anni ho impostato cambiamenti epocali, ho cambiato un sistema di governo basato sull’acquiescenza alle lobbies, ai poteri anche criminali. Non sapevo – nessuno sapeva – quanto fosse grave la situazione, quanto a fondo fosse arrivata la commistione politico-mafiosa. Questa è la sfida vinta: il sistema corruttivo è stato scoperchiato, i tentacoli oggi sono tagliati, le grandi riforme avviate, i bilanci non sono più in rosso, la città ha ripreso ad attrarre investimenti e a investire.

I risultati, quindi, cominciano a vedersi. Il 5 novembre su mia iniziativa il Comune di Roma sarà parte civile in un processo storico: siamo davanti al giudizio su una vicenda drammatica che ha coinvolto trasversalmente la politica. La città è stata ferita ma, grazie alla stragrande maggioranza dei romani onesti e al lavoro della mia giunta, ha resistito, ha reagito.

Tutto il mio impegno ha suscitato una furiosa reazione. Sin dall’inizio c’è stato un lavorio rumoroso nel tentativo di sovvertire il voto democratico dei romani. Questo ha avuto spettatori poco attenti anche tra chi questa esperienza avrebbe dovuto sostenerla. Oggi quest’aggressione arriva al suo culmine. Ho tutta l’intenzione di battere questo attacco e sono convinto che Roma debba andare avanti nel suo cambiamento. Ma esiste un problema di condizioni politiche per compiere questo percorso. Queste condizioni oggi mi appaiono assottigliate se non assenti.

Questi i motivi e il quadro in cui si inseriscono le mie dimissioni. Nessuno pensi o dica che lo faccio come segnale di debolezza o addirittura di ammissione di colpa per questa squallida e manipolata polemica sulle spese di rappresentanza e i relativi scontrini successivamente alla mia decisione di pubblicarli sul sito del Comune. Chi volesse leggerle in questo modo è in cattiva fede.

"Ma che sei scemo?" è, infatti, la domanda che i non fumatori fanno spesso ai fumatori.

Truffa, utilizzo fraudolento di carte, riciclaggio e favoreggiamento.
Questi i reati contestati -- a vario titolo -- alle 6 persone fermate ieri dalla Polizia.
Autori di numerosi "raggiri" messi a segno in varie zone della Capitale - ai danni di cittadini intenti a prelevare al bancomat - sono stati individuati a seguito di un'indagine condotta Squadra Anticrimine coordinata dal VQA Dr. Alfredo Luzi, del Commissariato Appio-Nuovo.
La tecnica era sempre la stessa, un "modus operandi" collaudato che coinvolgeva a vario titolo i componenti di questa banda di malviventi.
Dopo aver individuato una possibile vittima, ne seguivano gli spostamenti fino all'ingresso nell'area riservata dall'istituto di credito per i prelievi agli sportelli bancomat.
Un uomo faceva da palo, non facendo avvicinare persone che potevano disturbare il loro "piano", mentre un altro - posizionato accanto - si sporgeva per carpire il codice segreto che la vittima digitava, e lo annotava.
Nel frattempo entrava in scena un altro complice che distoglieva la vittima nel momento in cui stava per ritirare la carta dallo sportello, ad operazione ultimata, facendo notare che le era caduta una tessera a terra, che lui stesso 
aveva pochi attimi prima "posizionato".
Nel preciso momento in cui la vittima si abbassava per prendere in terra quanto indicato, il primo uomo con un'azione fulminea ritirava la carta bancomat appena utilizzata sostituendola con un'altra dello stesso istituto.
Le carte bancomat così "rimediate" con i codici carpiti, venivano poi adoperate presso gli stessi sportelli bancomat o presso altri, prosciugando i conti delle malcapitate vittime prima che potessero accorgersi del furto e bloccarle.
Gli investigatori, coordinati dal dr. Alfredo Luzi, sono riusciti -- lo scorso 22 febbraio - a sorprenderli durante uno dei loro "colpi".
Dopo infatti un'attenta analisi delle denunce delle vittime, considerati i luoghi e gli orari dei prelievi, e dopo diversi appostamenti effettuati in contemporanea presso più banche, sono riusciti ad intercettarli.
Alla vista degli agenti, i malviventi sono fuggiti facendo perdere le proprie tracce, abbandonando però la loro autovettura, peraltro noleggiata con falsi documenti.
Da qui l'indagine ha avuto l'impulso decisivo.
All'interno dell'auto gli investigatori hanno infatti trovato due contratti di carte di credito prepagate intestate ad un cittadino italiano.
Carte, poi verificato, essere necessarie per farvi confluire, tramite bonifici, tutto il denaro contante sottratto alle ignare vittime delle truffe.

It was a day of mixed emotions at the Aragon GP for the Repsol Honda Team as Dani Pedrosa was engrossed in an historic battle with Valentino Rossi – coming out on top to take second place – but pole man Marc Marquez sadly crashed out.



As the race got underway, Marc dropped back to third from pole but managed to get back up to second by the end of the first lap and slot in behind race leader Jorge Lorenzo. Meanwhile Dani had made up a position and was in fourth behind Andrea Iannone. As Marc chased down Lorenzo on lap two, he made a small mistake in Turn 12 and lost the front. The bike slid into the gravel and was too badly damaged to allow Marc to continue.



Dani pushed on and by lap three he had passed Iannone into second place, by lap four he had Rossi on his back wheel. This remained the story for the following fifteen laps, with just hundredths of a second separating the two riders. Then with five laps remaining Rossi began to try and pass but each time Dani was able to respond and pass Rossi back. This continued for the remainder of the race, with Dani showing great determination to battle with Rossi – passing each other several times – and not give up on the second spot of the podium. On the final lap, Rossi passed Dani, but again Dani reacted and passed him back in Turn 7 and was able to hold on to beat him to the chequered flag by just 0.090 seconds.



Marc remains in 3rd place in the standings on 184 and Dani still 7th with 129 points.

Lorenzo Lands Aragón Victory as Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Locks up Team World Title

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo secured his sixth win of the season and 60th Grand Prix win over all classes with a heroic ride at the challenging MotorLand Aragón circuit. Valentino Rossi also fought bravely to secure third in the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón, giving the team, which shares the same title sponsor, its eighth double podium of the season and the Team World Championship Title.

Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team‘s Jorge Lorenzo was on another level today at the Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón and took a stunning victory. Valentino Rossi had the Spanish crowd at MotorLand Aragón gasping for air as he entertained them with a sensational battle for second place in which he came just 0.090s short.



Lorenzo made a flying start from second on the grid to lead the MotoGP field into turn one with rival Marc Marquez in pursuit. The Yamaha rider showed his usual stunning pace on the opening lap, creating an advantage of over half a second as they headed into the second lap. Marquez tried to stay on the heels of Lorenzo, but was unable to keep up with his blistering pace and with 22 laps to go he crashed out.



By then Lorenzo already had a more than 1.7s advantage over the chasing group fighting for second, including Andrea Iannone, Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi. As they dueled, Lorenzo in no time built up a margin of over three seconds, which he managed beautifully. It was a lonely race for the Spaniard, but his incredible consistency proved unbeatable today. With no rider able to match his pace, Lorenzo crossed the finish line with a convincing 2.683 seconds advantage over the rider in second place, and clinched the by himself designed Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón trophy.



Rossi defended his lead in the championship with tooth and nail today. He held his sixth grid position off the line going into turn one, and soon moved up the order as he overtook Pol Espargarò. The Italian, promoted to fourth by Marquez‘s crash, was able to get hold of a provisional third place podium spot when he overtook Iannone on lap four.

Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez has taken a magnificent pole position – his seventh of the season – for tomorrow’s Aragon GP breaking his 2014 pole record (1’47.187) by over half a second. Teammate Dani Pedrosa had a provisional front row for the majority of the session but was demoted in the final moments and will start from 5th place.

The Repsol Honda’s have had a strong second day in Aragon, with Marc leading this morning’s FP3 session and Dani topping FP4. On his first flying lap of qualifying, Marc obliterated his own pole record by 0.552 seconds with his time of 1’46.635 (lap 2/7), sending him straight to the top, with Dani also taking a provisional front row place on his first exit.

2015 Total Lunar Eclipse Animation: Telescopic View of the Moon

Typically, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) spacecraft flies over the night side of the Moon every two hours, spending about 45 minutes in darkness. Because LRO is powered by sunlight, it uses a rechargeable battery to operate while on the night side of the Moon and then charges the battery when it comes back around into daylight.

During the total lunar eclipse of September 27-28, 2015, however, LRO emerges from the night side of the Moon only to find the Sun blocked by the Earth. LRO needs to travel an entire orbit before seeing the Sun again, relying continuously on its battery for almost three hours.

LEAD: Step outside on Sunday evening (September 27th) to see a special astronomical event: a supermoon total lunar eclipse.

1. At 9:07 p.m. EDT the moon will start to enter Earth’s shadow. An hour later, the moon will appear a ghostly copper color. The change in color will last for over an hour as the moon passes through Earth’s central shadow and is illuminated by filtered sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere.



2. As the moon orbits Earth, it has a farthest point in its orbit (apogee) and closest point (perigee). On Sunday, the full moon occurs during the closest perigee of the year. This is sometimes called a supermoon.



3. Supermoons occur *on average* every 14 months. But what’s special about Sunday’s supermoon is that it will happen during a total lunar eclipse.

Pop Francis Congress Speech "Heal the World!" - Video

The atmosphere inside the House chamber was electric. Nearly all of the 535 members of the House and Senate were present, along with four Supreme Court justices and several presidential candidates, including Senators Marco Rubio, Bernie Sanders and Lindsey Graham, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and neurosurgeon Ben Carson.



Tickets were hard to get to witness Pope Francis make history Thursday as the first leader of the Roman Catholic Church to address a joint meeting of Congress.  The occasion had the feeling of a presidential inauguration and a State of the Union address rolled into one. But it was less partisan in tone and the reactions to it were less mixed.



The pontiff from Argentina, whose first language is Spanish, spoke softly, slowly and deliberately in accented English. Lawmakers listened attentively, many of them on the edge of their chairs.





Although his manner was gentle, Pope Francis quickly made the point that every member of Congress has a responsibility to work tirelessly for the common good. He called on Congress to break out of the cycle of polarization and paralysis, to work together to “heal the world’s open wounds.”



His call for a “renewed spirit of cooperation” comes at a time when the divisive Congress may be only one week away from triggering a partial government shutdown.



'Golden Rule' applies to migrants



Pope Francis made the Golden Rule from the Bible's New Testament the cornerstone of his speech: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." He applied it to the Syrian refugee crisis and to the thousands of migrants from Latin America who travel north to the United States in search of a better life.



Democrats in the chamber, most of whom support immigration reform, applauded enthusiastically when Francis said foreigners should not be feared "because most of us were once foreigners."



He challenged everyone not to see migrants as numbers, but as faces.



“The yardstick we use for others is the yardstick which time will use for us,” he said.



The pope also spoke clearly about human activity causing climate change, saying Congress has an important role to play in minimizing the damage caused by environmental degradation.



The pope explicitly called for the abolition of the death penalty and said society can benefit from the rehabilitation of those convicted of crimes.



Francis’ plea for the sanctity of marriage and the family, and respect for life at all stages won him an enthusiastic standing ovation from Republicans, while some Democrats did not applaud.



But overall, the pope was received warmly and with respect by all of the members.



Lawmakers were on their best behavior, after having received guidance and pleas from congressional leaders. Heeding instructions, members let the pontiff walk down the center aisle to deliver the speech without trying to shake his hand or hug him.



Rare moment of unity



It was a rare moment of unity for a Congress that is bitterly divided on a number of substantive issues.



Republican Representative Michael McCaul said the pope was not speaking as a Democrat or a Republican, but as someone giving moral direction. The word most often used by lawmakers to describe the speech was “extraordinary.”



House Speaker John Boehner wept openly several times, both during the speech and afterwards. As a devout Catholic, Boehner said he prayed for the pope every day growing up, and that standing next to one was a “humbling experience.”



In a written statement, Boehner said: “Let us all go forth and live up to the words.”



Democratic Minority leader Nancy Pelosi is also a devout Catholic. She released a statement saying: “Standing in the very heart of our democracy, Pope Francis spoke to the better angels of our nature and of the American people. He reminded us of our sacred and inescapable responsibility to those struggling to escape poverty, persecution and war.”



Presidential candidates react



Republican presidential candidate and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie had a spot up in the Visitor’s Gallery. He told VOA he thought the speech was “great.”



Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who also is seeking his party's presidential nomination in 2016, had this say to VOA about the pope’s call for compassion for migrants: “When we speak of welcoming immigrants, I believe that should refer to legal immigrants.”



Independent Senator Bernie Sanders, who is running for president as a Democrat, also used part of the pope's speech to highlight his main campaign issue, telling VOA: “Most importantly, what he said today: the function of an economy is not just to make the rich richer; the function of the economy is to serve all the people."
